April 7th - City playgrounds are closing but park spaces are open. Please see the notice for all of the information regarding the playground closure.  Notice of Playground Closure

April 1st - The Library has been closed, staff is working remotely, there is no more front door pick up, the drop boxes are closed, and all materials out have a new due date of May 1st.

March 23rd - The United Way has launched "One Fund" to rapidly deploy resources, services, and dollars to people in the region who have been affected by COVID-19 virus.  The link to their page is - 

March 19th - All board and commission meetings are canceled unless they are absolutely necessary to have.  The City Council will be meeting remotely to conduct city business for both work sessions and council meetings.  

As of March 18th City Hall and other city offices along with the library are closed to the public.  Staff is still reporting to work so residents can call in or email staff.  Visit the staff directory for a list of emails or call Administration for assistance at (218) 773-2483.

Availability of Meals & Food

As of March 20th the East Grand Forks Food Shelf is maintaining their regular hours of Monday and Wednesday from 10am to 5pm and Friday 10am to 2pm. 

The East Grand Forks Public School system is providing breakfast and lunch to all children in the area.  There are drop off locations to pick up the meals from.  This flyer lists all of the times and locations where they will have food available. 

The Meals on Wheels program is still providing meals from the Senior Center.  All meals are being delivered.  To be added to the list please call (218) 773-0821.

Unemployment Insurance Link

Those needing to sign up for unemployment insurance need to visit the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance site.  They are requesting people complete the form online because of the high number of people that are currently filing.
